  • Carmina Arroyo

    She/Her

    Registered Associate

As a Mexican-American, queer daughter of immigrants and a military child, I’ve learned firsthand what it means to navigate multiple cultural, familial, and social worlds. Growing up in a community where mental health wasn’t openly discussed shaped my desire to create spaces where people can be honest, vulnerable, and truly heard. I’m especially passionate about offering safety and comfort around your unique experiences, lifestyles, and intersectional identities, making room for every part of your story.

I practice from a humanistic, relational, and non-pathologizing lens, meeting you with authenticity, curiosity, and deep respect. I see you as the expert of your own life, and I aim to build a space that feels safe, affirming, and grounded in genuine connection. Because healing isn’t linear, we’ll move at your pace, honoring moments of tenderness and self-compassion as they arise.

My approach is strengths-based and informed by emotion- and trauma-focused perspectives. I draw from DBT skills, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Art Therapy, integrating them through humanistic and intersectional frameworks. I’m interested in working alongside folks through life transitions, relationship challenges (both intra- and interpersonal), trauma, identity exploration, and the process of deconstructing beliefs or patterns that no longer serve you.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Wellness from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) in May 2021. Most recently, in May 2025, I completed my graduate-level training for my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UTSA. During my graduate training, I completed clinical internships at Sarabia Family Counseling Center, the Boys & Girls Club, and Our Lady of the Lake University. These experiences allowed me to work in community-based counseling settings and support adults and children from diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds. I also provided counseling to clients navigating varying degrees of trauma, exploring their LGBTQ+ identities, and managing relational and other significant life transitions.

Therapy can bring vulnerability to the surface, but it can also open space for empowerment, autonomy, and deeper self-connection. I hope together we can build a relationship that supports you in finding meaning, honoring your voice, and embracing yourself with compassion.

Separate from the counseling world, I’m a SoCal girl who loves adventure and embracing cultural experiences. I’ve had the privilege of being able to see different parts of the world at a young age and bring that sense of gratitude, curiosity, and compassion into every aspect of my life.

    Personal Interests:

Born in SoCal to a military family, there isn’t one specific place I call home since all of the different places felt as such. I’ve been grateful to have lived in California, Texas, Missouri, and Okinawa, Japan. These moving experiences sparked a massive interest in adventure in every sense of the word. If I’m not in my counseling room, I’m taking a beautiful hike in a national park, pitching a tent in the great outdoors, embarking on an overambitious road trip, or nesting indoors with my adorable fur babies. Whether it be indoors or outdoors, I’ll always find moments of peace and gratitude, especially when I’m being creative and spending time with my friends or partner.

  • Chet Arnett

    He/Him

    Intern

As a Registered Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor, my work is grounded in the belief that people heal through understanding, connection, and the right support at the right time. I view counseling as a collaborative process in which we explore the patterns, experiences, and inner narratives that shape life today. My approach integrates psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness and strength-based practices, creating a space where you can feel safe, respected, and deeply understood.

I believe that symptoms—whether anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or feeling “stuck”—are often signals pointing toward unmet needs, unresolved experiences, or parts of ourselves that have been silenced. Together, we work to bring those parts into the open with curiosity rather than judgment. I help clients develop insight into the emotional roots of their struggles while building practical skills for navigating the challenges of daily life.

My style is warm, steady, and engaged. I value honesty, collaboration, healthy boundaries, and the uniqueness each person brings into the room. Drawing from my background in service, leadership, and lived experiences of resilience, I approach therapy with a deep respect for the courage it takes to seek support. I often incorporate reflective dialogue, mindful awareness, and when helpful, nature-based perspectives to help clients reconnect with their own internal wisdom.

Ultimately, I see counseling as a place to slow down, listen inward, and rediscover the capacity to live with greater authenticity, purpose, and connection. Whether you're navigating trauma, life transitions, identity questions, relationship issues, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, I am committed to walking alongside you with compassion and clarity.

I see therapy as a collaborative, supportive relationship built on trust, respect, and genuine care. Everyone’s experiences are different, shaped by culture, identity, relationships, and life circumstances, and I aim to honor each of those without judgment. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe to be your authentic self and explore what’s really going on for you. I take an integrative, mind-body approach, recognizing that our thoughts, emotions, and physical experiences are deeply connected. We’ll work together in a way that fits you, focusing not only on what’s difficult but also on your strengths, resilience, and what’s already working. Therapy is a shared process, and my hope is to support you in building insight, confidence, and meaningful change in your life.

I received my Bachelor Degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona. Currently, I am a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Northwestern University.

    Personal Interest

Born and raised in Southern California, I spent about 10 years living in Arizona after college before landing in Bend, which I now call home. Fitness has always been a huge passion of mine. I’m a CrossFit coach and a competitive Olympic weightlifter who loves training, learning, and pushing limits. When I’m not in the gym, you’ll usually find me spending time with my family and our two Labrador Retrievers, Milly and Myrtle, or spending quality time outside with friends.

If you’ve ever felt like you should be able to handle this by now, but something still feels off or unsustainable, you’re not alone. Perhaps you’re experiencing burnout, a late diagnosis that reframes your entire life, the quiet grief of who you thought you or a loved one would be, the slow unraveling of an identity you thought was certain, or simply the exhaustion of carrying too much for too long. Therapy can be a place to exhale. A place to slow down enough to hear yourself more clearly, make sense of what feels impossible, and move toward change that feels right rather than forced.

Some of the areas that most deeply call me to this work are shaped through lived experience in my own life and my family, including mental health struggles, addiction, neurodivergence, fertility challenges, major life transitions, and chronic illness. As someone who is mixed culturally and racially, I also know firsthand what it can mean to navigate multiple worlds, hold complexity that is not always reflected around you, and search for belonging. Emotional struggles do not emerge in a vacuum, and my perspective is grounded in feminist and multicultural frameworks that attend to both your inner world and the cultural, relational, and systemic contexts shaping your experience.

My style has been described as empathetic, genuine, and collaborative. At the heart of my work is a Person-Centered approach, meaning I respect your inner wisdom and strive to create a space where you can show up fully, feel deeply understood, and explore your experience without shame or pressure. Through psychodynamic therapy, we can begin to uncover protective coping mechanisms that may once have helped you survive but now leave you feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself. I also incorporate Existential therapy to explore meaning, sense of self, and uncertainty, especially during experiences such as grief, burnout, disability, or life not unfolding as expected. To balance this depth work with real change, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) to support resilience and values-aligned next steps. When meaningful for the client, I also integrate spirituality and mindfulness into the therapeutic process.
